Christmas 2014

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all our friends.

Connie finally got a Samsung smart phone. It is one of the most basic ones available (Rugby) but it is meeting her needs and she is definitely hooked on it. She plays Blackbird (Rook) and Freecell on it a lot as well as reads Nook books on it. She has a bunch of apps and uses them a lot when using wifi at home. She uses a lot more data than Meade but we still usually only use 300 MB a month for the both of us. Both of us has gotten hooked on texts but use less than 2000 a month.

In May, we went out west for a combination business trip and vacation. We spent a week in Durango Colorado. We really liked the area. The highlights were Connie's zipline and the 8 hour train trip to Silverton and back. It was really beautiful. We definitely didn't pack correctly. We had brought shorts and there was actually snow on the ground.

Connie also had a business trip out to San Diego and took advantage of the opportunity to go early for the weekend and went to the San Diego zoo and USS Midway museum. They were both very nice.We will definitely be making a trip out to San Diego for a week or more vacation.

Connie and her Mom continued their plan to take a trip together every year while her Mom is healthy enough. This year we went on a 11 day Viking River Cruise on the Danube. We visited Bucharest, Bulgaria, Belgrade, Croatia, Hungary and Budapest. It was an expensive trip but worth it. We went on all sorts of interesting excursions. Connie's favorite was the trip to Belogradchik fort Bulgaria.

Lee has changed his major to criminal justice.  He and Jessi broke up and he is now dating Caitlin.

Connie and Meade are going on a 7 day Carnival Cruise in December. It will include stops in San Juan, Grand Turk and St Marteen. Connie has a snorkeling excursion booked.

Connie is still hooked on Walking Dead. Lee is too. Meade still doesn't understand their fascination with it.

Connie has been going to movies on her solo weekends (when Meade stays in MS on 2 day weekends). She has always liked going to movies and Meade doesn't real care to go. She has also gone to several country music concerts. Meade even went with her to a Neal McCoy concert in Tunica. He enjoyed it.

Connie's niece Nichole had a baby on June 21st. He is an adorable healthy little boy named James Paul.

We had to get our roof replaced at the house in Mississippi. We got a gray metal roof. It looks good but causes problems with the satellite dish and cell phone reception. It will last longer than we will.

We have restarted our Game Day tradition. We've had it 5 times this year. Lamar and Elizabeth are the usuals and we're having a great time. We plan to do them monthly and hope some other work friends will join us. We had Game Days monthly in Orlando for several years and are tickled to be doing it again.
